By now, you probably know a little something about the saga of Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, who split with the band in 2005 after becoming a born again Christian (remember all those “Korn gave Head to God” jokes?) to focus on being a father, staying sober, writing books, launching his solo career and much more, before rejoining the group in 2013. A new documentary, Loud Krazy Love, dives deep into his experiences after leaving Korn, especially his tumultuous relationship with his daughter Jennea. The two of them are currently out promoting the film, which will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, etc. on June 18th, and they appeared as guests on a recent episode of Huckabee, the weekly news and talk show hosted by controversial former Arkansas governor, conservative political commentator, Christian minister and — who knew? — bass player Mike Huckabee.

As well as interviewing Brian and Jennea, Huckabee also showcases his skills on the four strings in the episode by jamming with the Korn guitarist on the main riff to “Blind,” the massively heavy opening cut off the band’s 1994 self-titled debut album. The video below starts by intercutting footage of that jam session with clips of Huckabee recalling that when he first met Brian “four or five years ago,” he had suggested that they should do music together; at the time, Head said he would, the show host recalls, before asking the guitarist if he’s still game. Brian hesitates before agreeing, whereupon the video switches over to the full jam session complete with flashing lights and backing musicians. Check out the footage below as well as video of Huckabee’s interview with Brian and Jennea.
