Rob Halford Comments on Kicking Fan’s Phone at Judas Priest Show

By now, you should have seen (and rewatched many times) the viral video of Judas Priest frontman punting a phone right out of a fan’s hand in the middle of a recent performance of the song “Judas Rising” in Rosemont, Illinois. Halford sent the offending gadget soaring through the air with an incredibly surgical strike — and did so without missing a note, underlining what we all already knew: Halford is the Metal God. Now that deity has commented on the incident.

“The facts are we love our fans and you can film us all you like and watch our show on your phone rather than in the flesh,” the singer told Loudwire in a statement, which Priest also shared via the band’s social media channels early this morning (May 31st), “however if you physically interfere with the Metal God’s performance you now know what will happen …”

Judas Priest current North American tour continues in Dallas, Texas, tonight. We suggest that you keep your phones safe and securely tucked away and enjoy the heavy-metal firepower “in the flesh.”
